Last Sunday was the one to be remembered as worshipers came in multitudes to worship and praise God in spirit and truth.The atmosphere was highly charged by Gods power.As the man of God mounted on the pulpit and delivered such a powerful message that made congregants discover and realize the love of God upon there lives.
Out pouring the message from Gods divine revelation and taking his proof text from Job 1;5 the congregants understood that we should be thankful for the suffering we pass through because God has a reason to preserve as for our future for his glory and manifestation. In all suffering we should never curse or see God on a bad light,to bring it out clearly the prophet said its not Gods plan for people to be sick, poor or suffer but its because we live outside Gods commands which gives the devil right tempt us,having put our attention and faith on possessions. In the past sin was not present simply because people chose what God wanted. According to Genesis 3;22 we received power of choice to distinguish between good and evil. after disobeying God.
The prophet stressed these point saying that as human we are free moral agents and what we choose has power over our future.God never forces people to do what he says,but he honors our choices instead,he gave us his words which we can follow willingly.Isaiah 1:19.He looks at our hearts and thoughts and repay us accordingly.A man can be a pastor by profession and not from the heart,a man can be born again by religion but not by heart,when we follow God from the heart Satan wont touch us,he purposely comes to steal,kill,and destroy. This shows that we need the holy ghost as saved Christians to give us direction, guidance, control and information and also have power over Satan ad his demons.
Reasons that make people suffer
- Sin – brings suffering
According to Ezekiel 18;2o-21 a good person will be rewarded for doing good and evil person will suffer for the evil he does.The prophet uttered that it hurts and pains when a good person turns out and start doing evil all his good deed’s will be forgotten and he will not be remembered rather he will die of his unfaithfulness and his sins. - To learn Gods ways
The prophet stressed out that God allows people to suffer for them to learn his way and strengthen their relationship with him.We as Christians are supposed to be filled with the holy spirit to speak and do Gods will.The goodness of seeking God releases one to a stress-free life.We should plan our life with God and do everything from the heart.Deuteronomy 8:17-18 - To mold us
Jeremiah 18;1-6 portrays out that we should allow God to mold us the way he wants.God has the right to do anything and no one can question him,those who allow God to mold them there lives become better with every trial.Those who rebel have their lives full of trouble and the devil takes advantage of them. - To bring us to proper place in God
Romans 8:18 the man of God reckoned out that the suffering we are undergoing now cant be compared to the glory that shall be revealed to us, thus we should choose to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the pleasures of sin. - To keep pride far from us
He defined pride as self justification.The fear of the lord will make us shun from pride and arrogance.God will humble the proud but exalts the humbled ones,pride is sin of the heart and it does not originate from God – 1 John 2:16. pride makes people fall into condemnation of the devil.This shows that God hates the proud,he will destroys the house of the proud-proverbs 15:25.If God loves us he will keep pride far from us.
The results of pride are;
In 1 timothy 6:4 ‘’he is proud,knowing nothing,but having questions and strife’s of words,where cometh envy,strife,railings and evil surmising’s.
lastly our fathers of faith passed through some sort of suffering to bring them to their exalted positions,they had to endure hardship for a season to enter their God designed destiny.
